Game Rules:
Overall match concept:
-
Points are made with 2's, 3's and And-1's. (For further explanation, see match rules.)
-
A team's total points scored are used to determine placement in case of a tie in the standings.
-
The best 2 teams per bracket will advance to their finals.
-
Match rules:
-
A team consists of a minimum of 5 players and maximum of 8 players.
-
Only a maximum of 5 players and a minimum of 4 players can play for one team on the court during a game.
-
Match duration as per tournament schedule: 20 min. per match.
-
All games are played with a running clock.
-
Only during the last 2 minutes of the game, the clock will stop for fouls, timeouts, out-of-bounds situations, and whenever deemed necessary at the referee’s discretion.
-
The game clock stops only for time-outs and major interferences.
-
Start and end signals will be given by the referee.
-
In-game points are scored with 2-point and 3-point shots.
-
Each match is played until 50 points are reached or until the final signal when time is up, whichever comes first.
-
In case of a tie at the end of the match, we will do a jump ball combined with a make-it-and-take-it system. The team that scores first wins the match.
-
For travelling/dribbling/first step/gather step, the referees judge according to (European) FIBA rules, not NBA guidelines.
-
If not mentioned, all other FIBA basketball rules apply.
Fouls and Technical Fouls:
-
After the referee calls a foul, a player from the team with possession passes the ball from an out-of-bounds position. The referee decides the position.
-
An And-1 situation results in the scored basket plus 1 additional point. No free throws.
-
And-1 means: when the ball is scored during a foul that the referee calls out. The referee decides if the point/And-1 counts.
-
If you score an And-1, possession goes to the opposite team and the foul is registered. If you don't score the And-1, offense keeps possession and the foul is registered.
-
After 4 personal fouls, that player is disqualified from the match.
-
1 technical foul: that player is disqualified from the match.
-
Technical fouls stay with the player/team for the entire tournament.
-
2 technical fouls in the tournament: that player is disqualified from the tournament.
-
3 technical fouls in one team: that team is disqualified from the tournament
Time-outs and Substitutions:
-
Maximum of 2 time-outs of 30 seconds per team, per match.
-
Substitutions and time-outs take place according to the referee's instructions.
-
Substitutions and time-outs are reported at the jury table.
